Brief Description
Vacuum Induction Melting, initially used to meet alloy requirements
of specialized industries, is becoming more and more essential
in the production of high performance materials for many applications.
These are used in very demanding situations, including super
alloys for high temperature applications, stainless steels for
nuclear applications, and very clean magnetic alloys for high
permeability.
Therefore, VIM Furnace is an indispensable tool in the manufacture
of special alloys, which must be melted under vacuum or in an
inert gas atmosphere because of their reactivity with atmospheric
oxygen. The process is suitable for the production of high-purity
metals under oxygen-free atmosphere. This limits the formation
of non-metallic oxide inclusions. To meet the extremely high
quality requirement, Jan Long VIM Furnace has accomplished a
significant contribution to further development in vacuum technology.
